to be successful, your set list should be 100% influenced by your intended audience. successful cover bands play what people want to hear, not the bands favorite songs to play.

as far as length, IMO you should have about 40-45 songs worked up. a typical night is 3-4 hours... so 3 sets of 15 songs should easily cover 4 hrs. better to have too many songs ready than not enough.

Radar Kings is the name of our band. We have a prerecorded opener for each of our sets. We play classic rock so the openers are things like the Bonanza theme, Hawaii 5-0 & Perry Mason with some voiceovers. It's a fun way to introduce the band.
