When Changing Strings

I just removed a set of Pyramid chrome nickel Gold Flats from my P-Bass and replaced them with Dunlop Stainless Steel flat wounds. It proved to be an excellent reminder of how a simple string change (especially when they are different materials and tension) requires a new set up. The Dunlop's are a heavier gauge and higher tension which meant I had to adjust the truss rod to get a little relief back. On a side note, I can't believe how much more volume I'm getting from the Dunlop's. Obviously stainless steel is brighter than chrome nickel, but in experience louder as well.
