I can’t help with an exact answer to your question. However, have you considered buying used instead of new. There are likely several USA black/rosewood P Basses floating around on the secondhand market. Many of us love Fenders, but let’s face it, they’re not really doing anything innovative or groundbreaking that puts too much value on a new one compared to a used one. Just a thought.

If you can believe it, not a single p bass for sale used in my area. Lotta jazz though.

You can go the Mod Shop route and get more colors and Rosewood .

No mod shop in Canada.

I emailed fender support they said no new finishes planned until 2022.

They didn't say. Just said new finishes next year.
