When the pictures don't match the description...

So I was really tempted to comment on a particular sale thread, but I'm not sure what the policy is on that. Here's an analogous situation: What if someone posts an instrument and they say "paint job is excellent, no dings or scratches" and then they proceed to post pictures of a dinged-up scratched-up instrument? Is it fair to question the OP if I'm not actually interested in buying, since I feel it would be in the best interests to all potential buyers to do so?

A picture is worth a thousand words.

I like to be polite and respectful. If I weren't interested in the item I wouldn't say anything. We all are capable of looking at pics and forming our own opinion.
If I were interested, I'd probably PM the seller and request pictures of specific areas in question, of say something like "I can't tell from the picture but "such and such" looks like it may have a scratch/ding.

Asking questions about an item is not against the rules, but it could be considered trolling to cause problems in threads for items that you don't intend on (or at least have an interest in) buying.
