Also note the amount of insulation between the wires is important as well. Compare what comes stock with QSC power amps and the same conductor size wire from a cheapo cord. The more insulation the greater amperage the cable can handle.

Well I know your being funny here.

The smaller the distance from one conductor to the other the greater resistance to electron flow. This is also true with the size of the wire.

Oh and those ultra hi dollar cables are a waste in IMO but there is nothing wrong with heavy duty and good quality as opposed to crapola.

Correct. The gauge determines how much current can be passed without the wire getting too hot. The grade of insulation determines the voltage capacity.
