Where do you work?

I design and build networks of computers which handle large amounts of data for business entities which make stupid amounts of money off of said networks.

If you've ever eaten at Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, or over a hundred other smaller restaurant chains, you've indirectly used something I designed.

If you live in the US and have ever given money to your state government via their website, there's a good chance that I helped make that possible.

If you are a Sprint PCS customer, within the next year you'll be using something I'm currently working on.

I'm an applications engineer for a manufacturer of pro audio equipment. I handle tech support, write applications and support material, write magazine articles, produce service manuals, etc. I've been with this company for nearly 13 years, after about 3 years with a competitor. Aside from moving to southern California it was the best job move ever for me.

I'm a manager for REI (Recreational Equipment Incorporated). We are a consumer-owned outdoor gear co-op. We retail outdoor gear for rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, cycling, etc. We also manufacture our own line of gear and apparel. Last year we ranked #9 on Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For, and have appeared on the list every year since its inception.

I get to play with toys all day...I love my job! :hyper:

What store are you at? REI recently opened one in Huntington Beach, which is really convenient for me!
