Where in Circuit to Place Active/Passive Switch

Hi Folks,

Hoping this is a simple question but I've been wrong before. I am a novice when it comes to wiring and electronics. I would like to purchase and install a Nordstrand 3B-4B preamp. Schematic below:

I emailed Nordstrand and they indicated a toggle could be added to the circuit in a way that I could select either active or passive operation in which the stacked volume/tone and blend work in either mode.

It seems like a 2 way, on/on DPDT switch would get the job done but I'm struggling to understand how to incorporate in the circuit. Is anyone able to assist? Happy to provide any other info needed.

Thanks in advance.

This is my preferred bypass scheme where the preamp input is grounded when the preamp is bypassed. Active-passive switches don't cut battery power because doing so could cause a loud pop or thump through your bass amp.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to actually sketch out the revised diagram.

So because the switch won't cut power, does that mean the battery would drain when plugged in regardless of whether it is switched active or passive? And if so, I imagine this would still work in passive if no battery/power was present.

Thanks again.
