How do tell whether your Fender bass was made in Japan, Mexico, USA....?????

i was just looking at mine, and couldn't find anything on the bass that stated a "birth" place. I assumed it was made in America, but never really gave it any thought when it was purchased.

Just curious... love the bass so keeping it regardless of where it was put together...

Are there any reasonably modern Fenders that don't have country of origin permanently marked somewhere on them?

Maybe the recent Chinese stuff doesn't, I dunno, but a question like this makes me wonder if this is a typical eBay fake with a waterslide decal.

My 57' and 62' AVRI P's don't. Both are pretty new.

The MIA Reissues as well as the Custom Shops of the 50's and 60's basses do not have country of origin labels, because the originals did not either.
