Which 4x10 Cab?

I'm on budget, but I'd like a 4x10 that can push some air for those louder gigs. Which one would you pick and why?

GK 410BLX-II -or- Acoustic B410

I mainly play funk jazz with my PJ Bass and a fuzz pedal.
My amp is a GK 700RB-II. The cabinet I'm currently using is a Berg HT112

+1 on the Avatars...

I have 2x12 with a 2x10 and together they'll give you all the punch and depth you need. Their 410 Neo is also great...IMO.

I was actually considering the 12 month no interest deal through GC. That way I can start using the cab right away.

Save your money a little longer and get something better. All of those are purchases to regret in my opinion (except avatar).

I currently run a GK 410BLX-II with my 700RBII and couldn't be happier. Plenty of headroom and great tone. The price ain't bad either.

I was going to mention the same exact thing. I'll even go as far as to say that the Avatar will blow away the Acoustic, no prob.

If the Avatar is too pricey, a used 4 ohm Peavey tvx on craigslist would be another option. Not the easiest cab to lug around, but it's not particle board.

Without a doubt. The acoustic cabs are dubious at best. Played them at GC; super heavy, nothing to write home about performance wise. Seems like basically "stuff four cheap ass oem drivers in a mass produced uber cheap particleboard box" design to me.

Buy used and get an SWR. They can be had CHEAP if you are patient.

I just picked up a Warwick 600w 411PRO to replace my Ampeg 810 and am in punchy low end heaven. $399 shipped ain't too bad on the wallet either....

I only have an acoustic 410 because i got it with an acoustic b200h head for 295$ , that price was hard to beat in my budget , broke college kid.

If you can wait save and get something better , the acoustic can be pretty loud but thats about all i can say , the tolex tears easy and it is very heavy.

The weight of the 4x10 has me rethinking it a little bit... what do you guys think of a 2x12?

Do you think a 4ohm 2x12 can push some deep air to the back of the room?

I looked up the Peavey TVX; and while it's heavy, it has some great reviews. I'm impressed. I may go in that direction.

Does the cab come with casters?

Give the 212's a shot, 4x10 are over rated and you'll still need a 15 for depth. Also, with 500/600w @ 4ohms that's more than enough air being pushed.
