TT-800 / Baer ML112 :thumbsup:

IMHO, with similar price point, this IS the amp.

OK, so you play alone with records/cd's/etc. at home and you would like an amp with enough power to play with a drummer if need be. Either the Fender Rumble 200C - or Rumble 500C will more than do the trick, will sound great, and won't break the bank. I use a 500C all the time with a fairly loud drummer and when I need more umph, I add a 1x15 BFM cabinet to it. At home playing along with records etc. I use one of those bluetooth Monster combo units I bought at Sam's for $120. It is more than enough for home use.

Thanks for the post.

Sounds like great options, I’m just a glutton for punishment looking to break the bank and find that magic tone.

The dual channel arrangement is so flexible. You will never need another amp. I have only this Mesa and the extra preamp running into the Subway Channel (#2) EFX Return to the power amp for running effects.

@agedhorse
has done an amazing job on this amp.

In that case take a listen to Orange AD200B with OBC410 OR Ampeg SVT Heritage [or CL] with Ampeg PN-410HLF. Can exchange cabinets with Barefaced Big Twin II and save a few pounds.;)

If you just want to break a local hometown bank and are flying blind [can't audition] my gut would lead me to Mesa TT800 with Mesa 1X15. You would have enough control [maybe just using voicing control] to get great tone at low levels also.

If you like the Markbass tone, move up to a CMD121H. It's lightweight, has great tone, packs a surprising punch and future proof as you can add another 121H cab. With the extra cab, you will have all you need to play with a drummer, and then some.

PS - it's very easy to carry as the handle is on the top.

Lott's of good, interesting answers, my advice is try as many amps as you can, having an amp, that you can play along with a CD/MP3 player, is a nice option, I have 2 amps that have that feature, a Fender Rumble 500 head & a Mesa Boogie 800+, the Mesa has really good tone shaping capabilities, the Rumble has a kinda baked in tone, but very usable, I also have a Ampeg SVT-CL, but you don't have any silent/headphone play a long abilities, and the 80+ pounds of weight, can be a hindrance, if you don't have help, I did have the Aguilar ToneHammer 500 some years ago, ( used it for trade bait, on another amp ), and once you get familiar, with how the drive control works, it's a very nice/good versatile amp, I don't have any expedience with GK, or Markbass, so I can't comment, on those products, but I'm a believer, in "the cabinet, is a big part of your sound concept", so pay attention to how cabinets sound, as they play a role in tone shaping, I'd say as to cabinets, go modular, meaning 210's or 2 12's, or 15's, you can scale up when needed, or scale down, plus, it's easier to move and fit into a car/SUV/Truck, and you don't have to purchase it all at once, and it give you the ability to "Mix and Match" cabinets ( as a side note one of the best mixing of cabinets is the Mesa Boogie Subway series of cabinets, as there designed to be mixed & matched, other brand, it hit or miss ... IMHO ) ... hope this helps
