So I knew a guy who was in the military. They would get a ridiculous amount of shots in both arms during basic training. He said they made them do a bunch of pushups afterwards and the arm pain went away. Turns out, working that muscle group to increase circulation will help your issue - at least according to the nurse at my doc's office.

I got the flu shot this year, and it didn't bother me at all. Well not physically. What bothered me is that it only covers 4 of 150+ strains of flu virus, and since they have virtually zero data from last year, they're guessing on the major strains for this year more so than normal (it's normally an informed prediction). o_O I know they didn't have a choice, but making decisions with a limited data set.... aggravating (now an uninformed prediction).

I asked the nurse why she told me that after the shot. She laughed. :(

I'm not being political. I work with data, so I'm partial to having data for a decision. Like having the data that increased circulation helps distribute the flu shot so your arm will not be as sore. That's good data. Now make your decision based on that extra data! :hyper::bassist:

Why would politics factor in? It’s not the politicians who decide which flu strain to immunize for each year.

I once got stitches in my right index finger a couple days before i had to play on Friday and again on Saturday. I adapted fine but the cut started to bleed both nights and with a white bass it made a big mess. Unfortunately i was in a country dance band so that visual was wasted on a crowd that was not the least impressed by blood on stage.

well shots have become a very political thing lately. I'm not sure if you noticed ;):D

I'm not interested in talking politics, so that's why I put that caveat in there. That and the "no politics" rule.

Then why even bring the word into play in this thread in the first place? Even as a “caveat” it comes across as a dogwhistle. This is exactly how this crap starts.

ok gatekeeper. I wasn't whistling at all. I was simply expressing my disgust at the lack of data they use to predict which flu shot will be the most effective. Take it where you want. seems like you enjoy the political arguments. well have at it, but I'm not going to join, so you will be arguing with yourself.

Cmon over to the Covid thread in OT; we talk a lot about data and data-driven decision making there around - not just Covid, but many other health related problems. We have actual medical doctors and various types of scientists contributing. And the politics side of things is closely moderated. Seriously, I’d value your discussion there.

No.

I'm not interested in discussing COVID at all. I like data driven decisions, but from what I can tell, no one (either side) is doing this with COVID, and the best data I can find says the same thing: Don't talk publicly about COVID unless you want backlash from someone (likely multiples). So no. No. and No again. I'm not interested in talking publicly about COVID at all.

I just want a peaceful life with a bass. It doesn't even need to be a nice one.
