Which Bass for classic heavy metal?

I'd want to try some classic riffs on a double P. or even triple P, stick one in the mudbucker zone.

I know it would be epic. Just hard to predict epic win or epic failure.

Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Helloween

The bass players of these bands have only one thing in common.

They never ask somebody else which bass to play! (asking is not Heavy Metal!)

Buy something used that has a neck you like or….

I want to upgrade my Yamaha BB734A with new pickups. please, help.

Just keep the Yamaha. It should be fine!

which one I should choose, MM or Pbass?

If asked to make a choice between the two sight unseen/unplayed, a P-bass is likely to be the better fit. An MM would be great too, but I'd only choose one if I was able to play it first since they typically vary in tone a bit more than P-basses.
