Which bass would you chose?

If you had $4,500 to spend on a bass, what would you chose from below (feel free to suggest one)

I’m a p bass freak but in my area, those Lakland jazz basses are starting to be all over the place and admittedly, they get the job done for pretty much any style of music, to my surprise.

If I was shopping for a 5 string bass, that would be my first choice or an equivalent Sire if budget is tight.

Not on this list - I'd get a Mike Lull M5V if I was looking to spend that much money with your requirements.

if it was actually me, I'd but two used basses for that, most Sadowsky German/Japanese made are very close to NYC quality, Roger himself told me to get a Japanese version and save my money once.

Are there any 34" lulls?

All really great basses! A used bass is less of a risk as you won't suffer as much on resale if it doesn't work out. On top of that, I really like the elegant simplicity of the Sadowsky preamp (and the Sadowsky tone), so used Sadowsky NYC all the way!

There are some very nice Japanese basses (e.g.. Atelier Z, ESP, Kikuchi) that will fit the bill and fall well below your upper budget limit in the current tariff regime. You would, however, be taking a risk on resale if it didn't work for you.
