No opinion of the various SVT iterations but while you're shopping you might add a Fender Studio Bass head to your list. That through a 212AV is one of the best sounds I've ever gotten with a P bass. They don't up often but if you do see one it's worth checking out. 6x 6L6 power section, loud and clean with an interesting set of EQ controls. If I'm not mistaken Pino used one on his first Who tour.
