Which Cab for my V4-B?

I can't decide which cab I want. I am in between a modern SVT410HE or a fliptops V4 4x10 cab loaded up with eminence B810's. Do you guys think the Fliptops cab will sound the same,better, or worse than the SVT cab? I think the flip cab will look better, but which one will sound better?

i think the fliptops 4x10/b108 would be good, and, IMO, alot better than a 410HE. i run mine with an original v4 4x12 (guitar) cab loaded with four Eminence 2512's and i love it:

Yes it is. What makes you say that? If it's brand-spankin new, break it in and then make a judgement. I have that exact speaker in my B15N and it sounds great.

Besides, judging an entire line of products based on one product is questionable. They can make anything if they know what you want, which is why I suggested talking to them about it. Beta10 are ok, but nothing special in my book. I think if you're going to go to the trouble of having a repro cab built, make it what you want it to be straight away. If you don't know how to articulate what you want, start w/ the Betas and go from there. They might suit you just fine.

I have broken it in and it doesnt handle the lowend that my upright bass/Ampeg B25B put out at normal gig volumes.. the speaker sounds great at low volume but thins out and gets muddy the more i turn up.. I sent them an email, and plan on giving them a call next week sometime if i dont hear from them by email first.

gotya. Could be a poor match for your cab. Shouldn't be a power handling issue given the equipment. Could also simply be a defective spk. Also, break in can take longer than expected. I generally run a drum machine through a PA amp overnight in the garage (I shoot for about 80% power) when breaking in new speakers. I can hear the kick drum change radically throughout the night. The resonant frequency of the speaker shifts significantly.

Weber sent the speaker straight to Don over at LDS and he put the speaker through his specs tests and built me a 1x15 cab just for the speaker. I broke it in over a weeks worth of practicing at home with my electric bass at a good listening volume, and took it to a low volume rehearsal with uprigtht that was 8 hours straight. the speaker sounded great. then last night I took it to a rock band's rehearsal not not that loud (for a rock band) volumes and it couldnt handle the volume at all.. and i was getting very small amount of disortion on the highend. I love the tone at low volume.. I just wish i could play it louder:scowl:
