I'm looking at 2 cabs to pair with the new V4B when I get it. They are the Ampeg 410he or the Hartke AK410 both are sealed cabs. I would be adding a 2nd one later. Any opinions or info? please help.

2 SVT-410s are about as close to an easily transportable 8x10 as you can manage. I think they sound great but have hesitated to buy one because my SVT doesn't have an 8 ohm option. So its either 2 or nothing.

If your amp will do 4ohms......then it will also do anything HIGHER than ohms. Such as 8ohms.

Not tube amps.
If you are looking to get the Ampeg SVT410he, make sure you get the higher wattage rating cabinet ......

Tube amps don't work like that. You match speaker impedance to whatever available output taps there are on the amp.
The "don't go lower but anything higher is ok" is for solid state power sections.

Sorry dude - what I meant by its either 2 or nothing - is that I either run two of the SVT-410he cabs resulting in 4 ohms, or I am **** out of luck and would be mismatching.
And though you can clearly get away with it, it doesn't seem like a grand idea from feedback from people on this board.
Thanks for the help guys. It seems the Hartke Ak series doesn't get any love at all. I have previously owned the HyDrive 410 and it was a great cab thats why the AK 410 caught my interest.
Ampeg 410he all the way. I love mine. Don't be frightened by how its advertised as part of a biamp rig with a 15 or 18. They have plenty of low end. Its the closest thing tone wise I've found to the 810e i got tired of moving.
Will I get plenty of volume with just one 410HE paired with a 100 watt tube amp? The second cab will be a few months after.
