Which chorus pedal shall I get?

Which is the best chorus pedal out of these?

I use a Zoom B1X multifx and I like the chorus options I get with it. The chorus being my favorite effect of all, I am thinking about getting a chorus pedal. In my neck of the woods, though, I have only two options: Boss CEB-3 or CE-5. Will either of these be better, compared to the multifx chorus? If so, which one?
Also, from what I've read on the web, for bass, CE-5>CEB-3. True?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

You can generally get better results with individual pedals than you can with multis, especially the more entry-level multis. You'll generally be able to tweak your effects more with an individual pedal, and be able to make changes on the fly, rather than scrolling through menus.

As for what to get, you've got a lot of options. The Boss pedals are solid, but you may be able to find something you like better. My personal favorite chorus is from the Visual Sound H2O, which also has a delay built in. Visual sound just came out with a single pedal that just has the chorus, not the delay.

Surprisingly I`ve been able to use my Memory Boy as a delay, chorus, reverb(not a great one, but still), and a vibrato pedal. Pretty universal but hard to tweak and it`s extremely sensitive to even the slightest twists on the knobs.

I'm quite happy with my CEB3...
I use it more as a 'sweetener' than anything though, dial it in so that only a touch of bass is affected and mostly mid - high notes affected it just made my fretless sing a bit more...
not the best example but here is me playing live with it on during the entire song:

Yup, both are good.


I prefer the CE-5. Because when I kick it in I want it to be heard as a (drastic) effect.

Other bassists may prefer the CEB-3 because of its subtlety.
And can use this pedal as mostly on, to add to the general main tone. (depending on music style)


IMO and IME.

Further reinforces my choice of a CE-5. I'm certainly not the subtle chorus type. I like my chorus nice and loud.
So I'll go ahead and get a CE-5, looking at the support it's getting, here and at other places on the web. Just hoping the guys at the guitar store let me try out the (guitar) pedal with a bass. Here in India and I expect them to have all sorts of noobish reservations about bass/guitar pedal incompatibility.

its all subjective but I've tried a few choruses.(Boss CE-5, CEB-3, CEB-2 CE-2, EHX electric mistress, and a few others). my choice is the CE-5 because it can do subtle but also do really over the top and everything in between. Also it plays well with my other pedals...THATS THE KEY TO ME!

The options I put up are the only options I have owing to my current situation (and location: India).
In fact I can't even find the Analogman Mini Chorus at the usual sites I would get effects from (which would ship it all the way here).
I personally love the Electric Mistress from what I've heard of it, but to get any of these really cool pedals (EMist, Visual H20, Analogman) I'll have to shell out quite a bit of dough to get it shipped here.
The tragedy is that there are NO Electro-Harmonix dealers in India. :bawl:
