Which color would you choose?

So, I'll be turning the big 5-0 in December and want to treat myself to a new bass.. Some features/specs I have ironed out but the biggest issue right now is color..

Concrete specs
Jazz 5 string
@Nino Valenti will build it
Alder body
21 fret rosewood fretboard
35" scale
Chrome Hipshot B style bridge and hardware
19mm spacing
Passive

But what color??? I want to stay with the 60's Fender palette and I've narrowed it down to three;

Surf Green,


Sonic Blue


or Dakota Red


Which would you choose??

I have a weakness for surf green. But I love surf music, so I have a reason.

I'm a total sucker for Sonic Blue, but if that Fiesta Red had the tort guard, I could be persuaded to go that way as well.

Dammit...those are my 3 favorite colors. Went with the surf though.

I have voted surf green (or seafoam green), because I don't have a bass of this color. Maybe I'll try to find a passive deluxe P during my next holidays in the USA (We can only find the active version in Europe)

Among those 3, I would go with the green though, truth be told, I don't really care for opaque colors on basses or guitars and would prefer translucent with some nice wood grain showing through.

I like the Dakota Red! With the rose wood neck, it just all matches up very nicely.

Although I like surf green, it is a Surf Music color and should only be on a Fender Precision Bass. Doesn't look right on a 5 string Jazz Bass type body. And, I've never much liked matching headstocks. They make a bass look shorter or something.

The Dakota Red with the maple headstock and rose wood fretboard....................just looks GREAT!

I voted Surf Green.
I have a real soft spot for all of Fenders "Surf Era" colors (that's how I think of them). Now given the choices of Surf Green and Sonic Blue I will state that I prefer the bolder versions of those colors, Seafoam Green and Daphne Blue and you might want to give them some consideration.

I prefer an aged clearcoat Daphne Blue ... Bluer than Surf Green, and Greener than Sonic Blue...

I recognize some may say it's comparing apples to oranges... but every time I see Knopfler's Dakota Red Strat, I just dig it. And on a Jazz Bass with a rosewood fretboard... clay dots... parchment pickguard... mmmmmm, yummy!

Plus, it's a shade of red that's not the hyper-overused Fiesta Red. Don't get me wrong... I love Fiesta Red... but geez, enough already, bass-making world! There's too many of 'em out there lately.

Although I have a Sonic Blue Precision (my favorite p bass color), I voted Surf Green because I love a surf green jazz and almost bought one this past weekend.

Carrot Orange would be a good color choice too.
