Which configuration?

I'm looking at buying a new rig and need some help on what cabs to get. My last thread didn't get all my questions answered so I'm trying again.

Not knowing all your requirements I have to look at what I would look at. If I were looking for some new cabs of any size or flavor, I probably wouldn't look any further than Bergantino cabs. Have fun.

I see you have a poll now on specific configurations. If I were into carrying a lot of gear, I think a 4x10+2x12 would be a great combination. How about a single 6x10 cab?

If you have enough power, I'd recommend two Bergantino HT322's (2-10's 1-12 and a tweeter) Alone, one would sound awsome, and two would be insane! (with the proper amount of power)

Otherwise I'd say two 410's

I have a SWR 1-18 + 4-10 setup. Rich, deep, and punchy. Sounds full at any volume. Highly recommend it. Good luck, and have fun trying different setups.

I Have an Avatar 2x10 with Horn and a 1x15 without a horn, it makes a wonderful half stack! Unlike front ported cab's these are rear ported cab's and they can project the sound better IMO, I have messed with front ported cab's in the past but if you are not right in front of them you can't here them very well when you have a drummer and two guitarist blairing!

My next step for a full stack is to pick up there 4x10 and 2x12 Neo 4 ohm cab's for a full stack. Get me a head that can drop down to 2 ohms and I can mix and match and take what I need for different settings.

Since sound is kinda subjective the closest I can describe is something similar to Les Claypool. Not exactly like his sound but similar.

What do all of you think about two 1x15s and a 4x10?

I would say that 41.94% thinks it's the way to go....

I would run a 4x10+115 before a 4x10+118 going the Carvin route. As you say, sound is so subjective, but the 4x10+118 with the Carvin cabs I've heard has a much rounder characteristic that I would not associate with Les Claypool style of tone.

For my big rig, I used to use a Kern pre > QSC PLX2402>Eden D410T+Eden D118XL. It was massive, in more ways than one!

And no, I never needed PA support
