Yes, these are the strings that were too soon discontinued. The strings they were an update to were XL Reds, which I also liked, and were discontinued many years ago (I did manage to find an NOS set a few years back, and they're on my Precision). The EXP Reds were an improvement over the XL Reds because, with the coating, one's fingers didn't turn greenish black.
While I never buy strings based on color, the copper Reds look fantastic on my Walnutglo Ric 4003.I managed to hoard three or four sets of EXP Reds. My partner jokes that should last me fifty years.

I own two, and IMHO, there's nothing special about this bridge, but it has a certain mystique that continues to inflate selling prices on the pre-owned/NOS market. Someone should buy the rights, put it back into production, keep the numbers low so that inventory isn't excessive, and then laugh all the way to the bank.

Nothing. I'm old enough to remember the 'Good Ole Days' and the associated gear. I think newer gear produced by quality companies in quality factories / work shops is light years ahead of the old stuff. I personally don't miss it.

A Fender 1961 Jazz Bass reissue with stacked pots. A Rickenbacker 4003 available in white. Keep the groove.
Lots of aftermarket providers have since duplicated the BAII's functionality, but they still ain't the real McCoy. Branding is a powerful thing.
I'd heard something similar, but now I'm not so sure. The current USA Geddy Lee Jazz Bass features something called "Geddy Lee signature HiMass bridge," and the current MIM (formerly CIJ) Geddy Lee Jazz Bass features a "Custom High-Mass bridge." Of course, it wouldn't be the first time a major musical instrument manufacturer bought a brand for the sole purpose of killing it off.

Rickenbacker recently posted a photo on their FB page of a batch of Snowglo 4003s in the factory.
We should get a petition to get boss to do a waza version of the oc-2.
This! A real Ripper & a real G-3. (Yes Gibson…we do know the difference…and no…we're not stupid. If you do a reissue - do a reissue. Don't insult us by making something that sorta looks like the original but is completely lacking any of the old magic that makes us want to buy one.)
