which fuzz?

well, now that ive got a job (which means steady cash flow), i think im almost ready to go out and get a fuzz pedal. im not looking to spend a mint on a boutique fuzz (woolly mammoth or such), i just want something that will do a little more than my pd7 does without the harmonics and constant buzz i get out of it. ive watched videos and reviews for all 3 of these, but im having trouble deciding which one i want. i want to be able to get a clean fuzz with not alot of attack, but also be able to dial in a fuzz tone with heavy mids and a hard attack. these are my 3 ive anrrowed it down too:
russian big muff pi: sounds a little smoother than the usa version, and after watching a video it comes closest to the sound i want
mxr el grande fuzz: ive heard alot of mixed reviews on this one, but ive heard it, and it sounds like a cool little pedal
mxr blowtorch: not exactly a fuzz, but ive heard some very fuzz-like tones out of it. it has the most adjustability out of the 3, but its also the most expensive. and its an 18-volt pedal, which is a slight turn-off...

which of these should i get? if anyone has had any expirience, please tell me what you think. all help will be appreciated. thanks!

Personally, I like the Russian Muff much more than the El Grande or the Blowtorch. But that's my opinion, determined by the sounds I want to get out of a fuzz, which have no bearing on you, and the sounds you want to get out of a fuzz.

You could also check out the Bass Big Muff, but, personally, I'm not so down with it. It seems a little "tame" to be called a Muff, in my opinion.

Moral Of The Story: Go to a store and try as many of them as you can, preferably with your rig. That's the only way you're going to be sure you're getting the one you want.
