I just noticed that the Larry Sanders Show didn't make the list of choices. That series was pure genius.

Band of brothers is amazing, a def must watch. Rome has some of the best costumes & sets on TV.

I watched the first two seasons of the wire this weekend, great acting & for the most part really good writing (some great 1 liners) although it does get a bit predictable at times.

I've seen a bunch of it. It's funny, but Gary Shandling annoys me. Same with Curb Your Enthusiasm. Funny show but Larry David just bothers me.

I tried to watch Hello Ladies. Steven Merchant with Ricky Gervais is great but I couldn't watch him on his own.

Special Mention for Carnivale, which was unjustly canceled after its second season. That was a great, fascinating show.

The cancellation of Carnivale was a travesty. It ended when there was finally some resolution to the story and the beginning of a whole new conflict.

I dig Boardwalk Empire for the style of the show and the good characters. It's starting to drift a little, but I still have high hopes.
Rome was a great 2 season show. I really miss it. I'm a history buff, so that is going to appeal to me.
John Adams was a one season mini-series. Again, if you are a history guy, it's worth watching.
Band of Brothers was good, but I didn't know it was HBO. It gets played on so many other channels all the time its hard to know.

Nope. My laziness knows no bounds. I might give the Wire a shot. In the mean time I'm going through breaking bad again. I haven't seen it since it ended.

Just noticed the other day that X-files , Firefly , Battlestar Galactica , Supernatural , Breaking Bad all have almost the same production companies.
I said almost .

I wish I could watch firefly again. With so few episodes, I've seen each one too many times already. It'll be a few years before I can do it again. Truly one of the greatest tv shows ever, sci fi or otherwise.
