Which instruments can you play?

There's a thread around that's about which one you'd like to pick up, but I know many bassists are multi instrumentalists as well. And by playing I mean that if you were asked to do a gig, you'd be able to hold your own in playing the simpler parts and then maybe a simple solo. If you're here on talkbass and play some bass, you're allowed to pick bass.

If you're out of practice for an instrument like the tuba or trombone in my case and could pick it up again granted your lips held up lol you're also allowed to vote for that

I play a bit of uke but cannot stand the damned things and would never accept a gig playing one so didn't vote 'uke'.

Having said that I do play guest bass with a uke band when they have a big gig. 2 of them double on guitar, fiddle and blues harp so (thankfully for me) never more than 2 ukes at once.

After bass my other passion is delta blues slide guitar.

I started on trumpet when I was 9 and played it regularly until my early 20's. I run into a good number of bassists and guitarists who are also horn players of some sort. I wonder why that is?

School band. Girls played flutes & reeds (and guys with braces). Boys played horns. They crossed over in the sax section

Bass, low brass, a little guitar, vocals, and I do a mean carrot solo.

I sold pianos for several years but only play them just enough to demonstrate them. I could sit at a nice grand and wow you, for about 15 seconds.

On our album (link below) I play electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano and keyboard/synth but the songs were all written on the awesome instrument known as bass..

And if it isn't too difficult I could play simple melodies or chords on a piano/keyboard
And simple mandolin songs.

Saxophone is my thing/college major, then bass, and I doubled on clarinet a lot in high school, still relatively proficient on it now. Bought my dad a mandolin a few years ago for Father's day, I ended up learning it the most extensively
Yeah I guess I play guitar too. I never really try learning stuff besides Brian May solos though haha
