Which Jazz would you choose?

I have japanese 75RI with a Sadowsky pre on it and it rocks to death - really wonderful.I don't know the difference between the MIJ 75RI and the US version but the one I have is really a copy of my old (but unfortunately gone by now) original 1975 jazz bass, even if the pickups of the RI are definitely more treblish than the old original 70's ones. BTW I also own a Classic '70 MIM jazz and also this thing is a great bass for the little money you pay for...difficult times nowadays to choose a new bass...!!!:rolleyes:

According to the new 2009 Fender Frontline catalog, the LIST price on the '75 Reissue is now up over $2,900.00! (I can't remember the exact figure - maybe $2,950.00 - but nevertheless, it's almost three grand.)

I wonder what the "new" street price will be. The last increase took the street price to $1,899.00. It'll probably be over $2,000.00 now. I'm glad I got mine in '00...

Hey Zildjian,

I'd never heard of the Jazz Hot Rod until this past Friday.
I was in Memphis on visiting some family.
I went into Guitar Center to try out a Warwick. After not being knocked out, I proceeded to play all the jazzes they had. Of all of those I came to one that was my favorite. It was marked down to $700 I think. I went home and did a search here on TB and decided I better go get it. Saturday afternoon I go back to get it's gone!!

They said it had been shipped to another store.

I assume it had been in the store quite a while for the mark down, but I don't remember dings on it.

Hey man. Its funny you mention that, Im sorry man its heading my way! :hiding:

Jeff was kind enough to point me to that specific Hot Rod a few days ago.
