Which large combo to buy??????

Hi there.
I'm looking to get a new large combo amp. I need a fairly loud amp, and ideally a 4 x 10. So far it's between a new Hartke Hydrive 5410C, or looking for a secondhand/ex-display Ashdown ABM C410-500 EVO II. Wondered if anyone has any experiance on either, or can point me in the right direction. Cheers

It's too bad that Hartke doesn't offer a HyDrive 2x10 (or 2x12) cab since two of them (driven by an [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) could be stacked on end as a 4x10 vertical line array...

...to offer a wider dispersion of mids & highs (compared to a standard 4x10) and to get the upper-most speaker closer to one's ears so that band members and the audience can better hear the bass' note articulation throughout a venue.

410 combos are kinda rare these day. 212 combos have replaced most of them, but here's one that looks cool and I've heard some good things about the new Marshall combos. Heavy though!

Honestly you're better off with a head/cab setup. There's lighter NEO 410's out there and some great light heads.

I don't understand the desire for a 4x10 combo. To me, the point of a combo is to have a single hand carry for all amplification needs in that venue. My old 80's crate 1x15 combo was as big and heavy as I'd ever want in an all in one package. There is a reason that big rigs are seperate components. Casters and a smooth path everywhere would make it reasonable I guess, but it just seems much more reasonable to schlep a 4x10 and thenthe head of choice seperate.

NOw, say a sub 40 pound 2x12 GK combo, that's not hard to understand.
