which lightweight cabinet

I'm in the market for a new small cabinet for gigging in NYC. I have been using a Markbass combo and want something less compressed and with more power. I also have an Epifani UL112, but I'm looking for something less modern sounding...more rock and roll.

Considering 1x10's and 1x12's, possibly a 2x10 (but probably not), and I need as lightweight as possible..while still having a good classic tone.

What's everyone using these days?

the compression comes from the head, not the cab. it's a great sounding head imho, but it definitely does have a small level of compression at all volumes.

yeah, i have a few heads i'm happy with for different situations. the markbass reference is definitely related to the head as well, but in general their gear sounds a bit hi-fi for certain gigs (though perfect for a modern sound).

i just haven't really paid much attention to cabs living in NY the past few years as I haven't needed them. I'm doing a rock gig now where I need to bring an amp 6 days a week...so it's becoming an issue.

have you tried cutting treble with the vle and slightly boosting the bass? used to work for me.
