Tough choice. I like tobacco burst with a gold guard much more than a tort one, but that might be tough to get. The old rootbeer brown makes for a cool '70s vibe. The blueburst might be too modern, depending on the band context. And I can't stand Antigua myself.

What about an old-school color that stands out, like surf green or sonic blue? That's what I'm GAS-ing for in a P bass.

I voted with my bias:

I just don't get why so many people want to do the traditional P bass look. It's been done to death. Liven things up people! :D

I think having ONE traditional looking bass is okay right? ;)

Funny thing about the Antigua look. As evidenced by this thread and people I've to talked about it: Very few people say, "yeah that looks ok". It's very much a love it or hate it type deal. Personally, I dig it. I don't know if I dig it more than all of the other three options, but I do like it.

Considering how split the vote is I don't feel bad not being able to make up my mind.

Again, I don't even know if it's an option but what do people think of the Antigua look in general?

I'm not a big fan, but to each their own. If I found the right bass and it had an Antigua finish, I'd still buy it. I wasn't that big a fan of the pale yellow of my my '57 reissue either, but its grown on me.
