Just one last update to this thread.

My girlfriend put the veto on the trans brown option. Well, not really, but she did say that to her it looked too similar to one of my other basses

I don't think they would look incredibly similar, but I see her point.

And while I like Antigua, I don't like it more than the other finishes enough to justify the upcharge - especially since then I'd also want block inlays.

So I'm going with blueburst on ash with a maple fretboard and pearloid pickguard.

Thanks to everybody for voting or voicing an opinion. I appreciate the help.

So anigua is doable with an upcharge?

The blueburst on ash will be sweet!

Yeah, I'm excited about the blueburst P-bass. As for antigua, Nino was nice enough to check with his finisher and he told me it would be doable for an upcharge. And that they would likely do the pickguard by using a clear one and spraying the side that goes against the body. I very nearly decided to go that route.

Thanks for the info Jared. Gets me thinking.

Have you ordered the Blueburst P yet?

Not exactly. Nino sent me a list of specs to verify and I'm ready to send a deposit whenever so not technically ordered, but will be soon.

I hope someone does order an antigua bass from Nino. Even though I'm happy with my decision, I'd still really like to see one.

Cool. Looking fwd to seeing your bass. What kind of wait time you looking at?

Yeah, the Antigua is super cool. I think a PJ5 (P body), maple black blocks and binding, or a J5 (J body) with maple/black or rosewood/pearloid blocks and binding is what’s swirling around in my head for some reason. Even have a sticky over here with the specs and price staring at me. Just gonna save up the loot.

They're all nice, actually, and I really like the translucent brown if you're going to do the vintage tint on the fingerboard. However, if it was me I'd go with the burst and tort. No hesitation at all.

As if you couldn't guess, I do in fact have a burst/tort Precision V. ;)
