Which multi-modulation to pick

Sadly I haven't been able yet to try it in a band setting , but it allowed me to try out a lot of modulation at the same time and helped me discover modulation that I really liked. So for that it was worth the price of admission.

I do like the choruses on it and can get some fun sounds out of the flanger. And the multi overtone is fun as hell. But I do feel most of the effects work better on guitar than on bass.

That being said, it's still on my board and I haven't found a reason to remove it. I did add a JAM pedals Ripple to my board recently.

Thanks a lot. I'm now torn between Wampler Terraform (@600 Ohms is fond of it) and MD200 (dismissed Alexander Wavelength in the process). On one hand I'm worried about BOSS being too "guitarish" but at the same time, at least from my experience, those high-mid-present-guitary modulation efects work well in the mix. As long as they don't screw the bottom end of your signal... would you say this about MD200?

Anyone have a zoom ms-70cdr and care to share what they think about it?

It's good value, has lots of decent usable sounds (and not just modulation: also EQ, synths, compressors, filters, tuner) which can also be stacked and re-ordered, I didn't notice it adding noise or killing tone, and it seems well built.

I returned it though because I didn't like the fiddly scrolling through menus, it seemed like almost too much was going on - too easy to make mistakes: including one setting where it would continue doing the effect when the pedal wasn't engaged - useful if you want something like an 'always on' EQ or compression and then to click for Chorus etc. but not so useful if you're playing live and have done it by mistake and can't figure out how to turn it off!

You can mostly put this down to my personal taste and not being bothered to spend enough time getting to know how it works though....I am kind of tempted to get one again and give a better go of it because really for the money/size/features it's great, just the interface isn't ideal.

I haven't used the MOD 11, but the OCEAN 11 is amazing. The reverbs work well across the frequency spectrum. I have a baritone guitar strung like a Bass VI in A-standard, and they work on every string. I'd guess that, if the MOD 11 is built on the same circuitry/architecture, you will have a good experience.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting the EHX Mod-11, it looks good just as long as it's Chorus sounds as good as the EHX Bass clone (I'd use it 90% for Chorus). I know it says it's modelled on it, but has anyone here tried them both to confirm it's as good? I assume using the Bass Chorus mode it still has the X-over and can use the 'color' option as the equivalent of the Bass and Treble controls?

sadly I have no idea how it sits in the mix, but I don't have the idea it takes a lot of bottom end away.

But if I at this point was looking for a new multi modulation, I would seriously consider the Terraform as well. The Md-200 is not bad by any means, I'm just not totally sold

It has arrived... but after all, I use Mobius (vibe, vibrato, flanger, bit crusher, ring mod, tremolo, rotary) and Terraform (phaser, dimension, auto-was/envelope - mostly).

Instead of the EHX I got a Mooer Mod Factory 2.

On paper it has for a lot going for it: 11 different sounds (mostly Modulation, but some others like bit crush), tap tempo, series/parallel, 'accelerate' when feature holding down the footswitch, and it's small and cheap.

Main downsides are the sounds aren't as good as individual pedals and it's hard to see what sound it's set to. But it's good value, probably best if you just want a small pedal for occasional Modulation effects though.

I ended up with a Boss MD-200, but sold it a few months after. I was just using the flanger, so I bought a BF-3.

Yeah it seems to be well voiced for Bass (and has the 'parallel' setting which seems basically a 50/50 clean/effect blend). The actual Modulation sounds are lacking something individual pedals have but are close enough for occasional use of you're not too fussy about them, tremalo and chorus are two of the better sounding ones.
