Which Nashville repair shop to use?

I may need to take in my GK 550 fusion and these are the two recommended shops in Nashville. I live in Gallatin, TN.

I didn't know Nashville was broken. No clue, been there once, but that was 37 years ago. Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.

FWIW, I've done some business with British Audio Service on ebay - seem like good folks, they seem to specialize in hard to find Trace Elliot stuff. I may have gotten my mighty V6 from them, actually.

I've heard good things about both places you mentioned. Try British Audio Service first. I've heard some great reviews of them. If it's something simple, Corner Music has a good amp repair guy as well. He was able to fix an old SWR I have, and those tend to be really odd inside!

I drive into downtown Nashville occasionally so either would be do-able. My horn isn't working, and GK has told me to look at the fuses (lamps) inside my 212 Neo cab first. If the fuses go, then the bi-amp goes, which is what I've having. Hope that is all it is. I won't have opportunity to check that until this weekend as all my stuff is locked up nearby and I don't have a key bholder it's good to hear any joke these days! Thanks.

Lownote I've been in Corner many times, but always just getting flats. Don't have that bass anymore. Anyway, the two I mentioned get a pricing discount from GK on supplies so that would be the deciding factor. If it were just labor I might go to Corner. Right now I don't know. Might just need 3 new tubes. Only the one on the far left was glowing last night.

Same here...once, I think...but they were complete professionals, did what they said they would do in the amount of time they said it would take them to do it, I wouldn't hesitate to use them if they were the preferred service center for any product.

Thanks. Hopefully it may just be a blown fuse (or lamp!) in the cabinet. GK has already sent me the specs and said they are found in any auto supply shop and were cheap!

Creation Audio Labs has done great work for us. But they may be more pro-audio-oriented than musical instrument amplifiers.

But they are great folks.

Thanks. The two I put into this post are the two that GK wants us to use for warranty work so that's why I need referrals on them.

I ordered the fuses (lamps) from GK after going to most of the local auto supply shops. They looked them up on the internet and said they really didn't have the same thing. GK sells them for $2.58 and most at the auto supply shops were $1.99 so I just went with what came with the cab when new. Should have them within a week.

FWIW I had a really good experience with British Audio Service last year. I had a Trace Elliot preamp I bought in the TB classifieds that needed repair and nobody in the LA area had any experience with them (one shop wanted to systematically rebuild the unit rather than troubleshoot it to the tune of about $800!). After scouring the interwebs, British Audio Service seemed to be the only place with specialized knowledge of TE stuff. So I waited several months and then flew to Nashville for the Americana Music Awards with said preamp in my suitcase. BAS offers "rush service" to get to the front of the repair line and with that Shane diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in less than 48 hours. He even had the increasingly scarce NOS parts in stock.
