Which of these basses would you pick?

I'd go with the ATK, but that is based on my personal preferences. Played many in shops and always liked them a lot.

Only played few G&L's in shops but never was too impressed regarding sound and workmanship. Most likely they were some of their cheapest available..?

Can't comment on Lakland.

Thankyou to everyone who has given me their input and suggestions.

First of all I want to give credit to everyone here on Talk Bass . I think this is a fantastic site , its the best site I know of for guys into bass. I spend hours and hours looking around here and reading things . If it were not for you people I would not know one guitar from another ( or amp or speaker cabinet ) . As I said , I am a beginer , but naturally just like anyone , I want good stuff . I almost always look at used equipment to keep things reasonalby priced for myself ( not just music gear but almost everything I buy ) and I know there are good values out there if I do my homework . All of your comments on this site , good and bad also ( nobody wants to end up with gear that has known problems or weaknesses ) , have really helped me tremendously . I would have never in a million years ( Ok maybe in a million , LOL ) have been able to pick out this selection of guitars without listening to all of you here . Thankyou .

Also want to mention that the Lakland is a 2010 Skyline 44-01 model , with a Plek'd fretboard . It has Bartoloni humbuckers with 3 band EQ and passive/active switch . He says it has been played very little ( gigged 3 times last year ).

That's a pretty tough choice as they're all nice instruments. I'd probably end up picking the G&L or the Lakland, though.

ATK--the most underrated lower-priced bass out there. You can pull a lot of sounds from the triple-bridge pickup alone. To have that single coil in the neck pos just opens up more possibilities. And just look at that wood.
Since they're all technically good, or let's say they're equal, I'd go with the one that is most aesthetically pleasing to you. Go with your affinity. Assuming you're fine with any one of them & play-ability is there with all three, as shallow as this sounds, choose the one that's most attractive to you & on you, like an article of clothing. I know it sounds lame but consider it for a moment, especially if you have an audience.

out of those three, I'd get the ATK without any hesitation, although I'm a huge G&L fan, and not so partial for Ibanez basses. But ATKs are a great, underrated design, and this particular model is especially beautiful and versatile.

I'd go for the G&L - there again, I've got an ASAT on my want-list so...

G&L - if it's a US model for that price, it's a no-brainer. If it's a Tribute, I'd still take probably take it, but it would be a closer call. I think the Tributes come with the fatter/wider/thicker (?) version of the G&L neck, where the US models have a choice of necks. I prefer the thinner/narrower G&L neck. In any case, I think the G&L is the most versatile of the options - meaning it can do more different sounds/tones than the other 2.

ATK - second most versatile. And it's a beauty, to boot.

Lakland - definitely my last choice. It's basically a J bass, right? The least versatile of the 3.

Well I went out and bought the ATK 750KA . It's simply gorgeous , I looked it all over and it looks like its brand new . Not a scatch , not a nick , not a dull spot in the gloss finish anywhere . I even moved it around and reflected the light all over it's surfaces and it is spotless , hard to believe that it has ever been played by anyone , looks like it just came out of the store . Wow ! Gotta admit I'm excited . Love playing it and exploring it's sounds .

The ATK was near me in the Windsor Ontario area , so I was was able to go and try it out . The other two basses were two hundred miles away from me in Toronto ( 400 miles round trip ) . I have a brother in Toronto who could have bought one of the others for me , but he is not a musician at all and knows nothing about guitars . So I would have had to buy them without trying them unless I was willing to drive the 400 miles .

The ATk is beautiful and in the right light the deep lookinig nearly 3D woodgrain almost looks like flames . Cool . The extra pickup helps give it a range of sounds thats fun to explore . I'm a happy guy .

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to give me your input and varying opinions , I value them all no matter which guitars you favoured . You guys rock .
