Which of these things will kill me?

This is the inside of a Stagg 500BA 115 solid state amp head. Which of these parts will kill or hurt me? As far as I can tell the amp head works, but one or both of the leads to the speaker are dead.

pretty much the same as most transistor amp heads. valves amps have more voltage

So I couldn't find a schematic anywhere, and I can't figure out how to contact Stagg for one. Do they just not have customer service or am I missing something?

That round thing is a toroidal core transformer.......that can kill you.

I'd say this is not in your wheelhouse, check the fuse, then take it to a pro.

Unplug it before diving in and you might just live to tell your grandchildren about it.

What about discharging the capacitors?

You should have asked that question before you opened it.

Does it go in and out when you play with the speaker wires? How do you know it isn't the rectifier, the transistors or the capacitors or god know what?

Enough juice going through there to kill you, if you don't understand what is going on in there, please take it to a pro.

Honestly, if you aren't a tech or engineer, there's really nothing you can do in there anyway. The only thing you can realistically do is UNPLUG it, wait an hour for the capacitors to discharge, then look around inside to see if anything is physically broken. Maybe a wire has come loose or something obvious. Be CAREFUL please!

That's true. Best to stay out of there totally unless you know what caps are and how to safely discharge them.

This thread sort of rang a bell, and I looked up Keith Relf (singer in The Yardbirds). Wikipedia had this to say;

Relf was 33 when he died from electrocution, in the basement of his home, while playing his improperly Invalid Link Removed (electrically grounded) guitar...

You'd be amazed at how much you can troubleshoot with just a simplified block diagram...

... if you know how to troubleshoot, that is.

Should be able to at least locate that, and not even open it up, until you've made a preliminary diagnosis.
