Which one?

I'm currently trying to get the Joe Principe tone to do that I'm gonna buy two new pieces of gear:

- Tech 21 Bass Driver DI

- Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3

I have the American Standard P-Bass. I know Joe uses these two pieces of gear, but I have to buy one and then the other. My question is which one should I buy first? Which one influences the sound the most? Which one gets me closer to his tone?

The BDDI will require no modifications to your bass. Go with that and you may find that you're happy with your tone without having to modify your bass.
