Which One?

I am having a difficult time choosing an Animal to go with, but I have narrowed my choice down to three:
Glockenklang Blue Soul
Tec Amp 900
Monique and Demeter 800

I play mostly play covers...with some originals on gigs...my gigs are starting to slow down.(my choice...family comes first) I do not play professionally anymore..im just interested in excellent tone...light and versatility...the last few amps were Ampeg SVT w/810 and Mesa M6 2x12 combo...both were very heavy but well presented in their own right.
I need a new amp to push into multiple small cabs (if required)...I only have two outdoor shows this year and the ampeg is a bit of a beast to lug around... and not necessary!... these three have me really stumped ...I have been following these threads for months...just when I choose one...something turns me to another direction.
I generally play with no pedals but ...in case I do need to use I have a 3 leaf wonder love/ EBS comp and TC electronic vintage delay..thats it!...I don't use distortion...fingerstyle, no slap..well hardly ever!.

any input would be greatly apreciated

My guess is you've seen my (and many others') comments and clips of the three amps you are considering (although I haven't played the Demeter/Monique rig myself... Nostatic has a bunch of clips up on that one), so I won't rehash that. All 'top of the line' stuff that sounds quite a bit different.

I guess, given your situation of not playing that much and focusing on your family, I would consider a good, solid lightweight rig that won't totally break the bank.

Assuming you liked the M6/212 vibe (big and aggressive sounding), I would definitely consider a GK rig, specifically an MB800 and two GK Neo212's in 8ohm version. That entire rig would cost about the same as the Glock, and would be a wonderfully lightweight, pounding rig. With the power of the MB800 and the 8ohm 212's, you would have nice modularity, and using both 212's would give you plenty of oomph for even an outdoor gig with no PA support (assuming you aren't playing for thousands).

Edit: In the spirit of your exact request, a Baer ML212 and the Puma900 would be a very good, relatively lightweight, 'fingerstyle heaven' sort of rig that would handle pretty much any gig.

Haven't played it but the Monique and Demeter rig looks to be an awesome set up. Haven't heard these much lauded fearless/fearful cabs either, but how about pairing this up with the 2 15, 2 6 version?

Until I can afford the above rig, I'll just settle for my Markbass Jeff Berlin Combo and NY 151 extention cab.

I have had the opportunity to play a few GK systems as they were presented as the backline for myself (mostly 4x10's)...In a large hall they weren't too bad as they cut like a hell...but found them a little sterile, and overly bright at times>IME
The Mesa is ok...it did the trick for the time being ..but it just seems to miss warmth and depth...IMO..dunno...just time to move on!... What has me intrigued is that the Monique uses the same Blaxandall (Spl?) type EQ , and I am very fond of the SVT...except for weight..which takes 2men and small child to move the thing...LOL

I have read your posts on the Berg CN212...looks/sounds great...yet you recommend the Baer (Which also has received great reviews.)...why the baer...as you said.. better for finger style??...not too aggressive as the CN or is it something else that says Baer for me?

Those are my two favorite cabs at the moment (based on my liking of the ML112... I'm assuming the ML212 is 'more of that good thing!'). Given your use of a fridge and Ampeg, the Baer has a bit more of that sort of vibe than the CN212. However, if you dig one (ML or CN), you will most likely dig the other.

My guess is that the ML212 will have just a touch more maximum volume capability if you hit it with some big watts (you would hope you would get something for the extra 20 pounds!). Still relatively lightweight though.

I prefer the CN212 myself (it has more low mid meat baked in, and it extends into the upper treble), and it sounds fantastic with the Glock to my ear. The ML212 would not be the best choice if you go with the Glock, since much of the Glock's beauty is in the upper treble response, which is not what the ML212 is about.

If you are looking for an even fatter low end, and a bit more relaxed up top, the Berg HD212 is quite something also, and is about the same weight as the ML212.

I played the Blue Soul and it's an amazing amp. I own a Glockenklang Soul and would love to upgrade but don't have the cash. The sound of it is just like the soul but with a bit more power, cutting threw with the Blue Sould should not be a problem at all.

Never tried Monique. Techamp yes and have not been a huge fan of their sound. From all amps I have tried until now Glockenklang is still the clearest, it really brings out the sound of your bass. Just like plugging your bass in a sound-card and listening threw headphones. With the Glockenklang you have the same experience but in ambient. If you have a really good sounding bass the Glockenklang is absolutely worth it.

If you get the Blue Soul just watch your cabs, that beats can easily pop one if you plan connecting it to a smaller one. 350W on 8 ohms is a bunch.
There is also a version with 2.7, 4 and 8 ohm outputs.
