which P-Bass ... both '58 reissues

I played a roasted last Saturday so you know my opinion already.

sigh ... this started over on the '58 FSR thread ... now I have a decision to make.

I do need a P-Bass, this will be my only one. I love the look of both of these ... the natural roasted one is a Limited Edition so if I don't buy now, I may never have one. The white one should be more available going forward. Pics below ....

I live overseas (in Asia) and will only be in the US for 1 week in December. No chance at all to play either before and deciding/buying. So 100% buying online.

My current stable of basses is a black Fender Jazz (2015 or 2016), a 2015 Sandberg TM2 (wood finish), and 2 Sandberg Custom fretlesses (also wood finish). So the P-Bass in natural is similar in color/looks to the TM2. The white P-Bass would stand out.

Any advice on which one to get or other options to consider? This is taking longer to decide than it should take ....

I have the roasted 58 and it’s amazing! The neck is thicker then a standard P- bass but very comfortable.

Fender plays a little fast and loose with their year-id-reissues. On this I think it's essentially just marketing the name. My guess is they thought they would sell better attaching a '58 to the name.

Amazing how that concept went down the terlet with their newest line. It appears they also believe the opposite is true.
