Quarter pounders are hotter, more modern-sounding than original P bass pickups. Lots of people like them a lot. I don't.
Fender Original '62 pickups are just what they claim to be: original-sounding.
You asked "which pickups will give me more of the 'REAL' P bass tone?"
Obviously the Fender originals will give you a more authentic P bass tone than the Quarter Pounders.
A third option to consider is the Seymour Duncan Vintage P bass pickup, model SPB-1. It is much closer to the sound of the original P bass pickup than the Quarter Pounder. Many consider it a nearly exact replacement for original vintage P basses.
If you're gonna be playing metal, you probably would be happier with the more modern sound of the Quarter Pounders. If you truly want a classic P bass tone for older rock, country, and especially blues, you will be happier with the Fender original '62 or the Seymour Duncan Vintage.
IMHO
That will be $0.02, please.
