I teach at a Peavey dealer and can get Peavey gear for a "healthy" discount. I am going to pick up the Tour 700 head but wonder which cab or cabs to put with it. I play a wide variety of styles from funk, rock, soul, gospel, country etc. I was thinking either one Tour 410 cab or two Tour 210 cabs and only take one Tour 210 for most of the gigs and add the second one when I need more. I also just got for free a 4ohm Peavey 115 TVX cab but have not tried it out yet. Being 4 ohms I could not add another cab to the 115 TVX. I play a 4 string Peavey Cirrus BXP bass. I am open to suggestions. Yes I know there are a lot of great brands of gear out there but I can get Peavey for a lot less right now so I would like to stick with Peavey for now. So 115 vs 410 vs (2) 210s. Thanks, Wayne

Which Peavey speaker cab?

I would shoot for the two 210 cabs..although you really cant go wrong with any of these cabs, as they are all 3 great. Its a shame to Tour heads are not 2 ohm stable, then you could add the 15TVX to one or both the 210 cabs! OR, you could opt for one of the older Peavey heads that IS 2 ohm stable...just a thought

The Tour series cabs don't seem that much more expensive and with your saving you'll notice the difference even less so it's probably worth trying cabs from both lines.

This 115 tvx is a 4 ohm. It had sat in the store for the last few years. It was damaged in the back. A fork lift had punched a hole in the back. I have got it just about back together. I guess if I want the punch do I go for one 410 Tour series or two 210 Tour series cabinets? Thanks for the replies, Wayne
Speaker sizes don't really have anything to do with how a cab will sound, there's plenty of 10s that have earth rumbling sub bass but not as much punchy mid bass and vice versa.
I'm sure the dealer could order a 15" Low Rider raw speaker to replace the 4 ohm in the 115TVX, which you could then pair with the 210 or 410.
I have a 210TX I'm not using. I could ship it. It's 4 ohms. I got it in a trade, but I plan to use two 8 ohm cabs with my Eden.
2 2x10's, if they are voiced well... is a good practical setup. take 1 for quiet gig's , take 2 loud gig's. Leave one at home, one at rehearsal if it's a different place. Stack 'em on end for great monitoring. Split 'em side to side of the drummer for broad monitoring. These days I perfer 15's or 12's but I got real mileage out of a pair of 2x10's back there a few years... I'd be doing that way before a 4x10 ...
Since you already have a free 15 i'd go with freecheese and get that lowrider basket 8 ohm's and an 8 ohm 2 -10 then like they say at peavey you'll be able to knock a hole in the ground with that thing.Good luck
