Which Pickguard?

You have a bass with nice wood grain. A white, parchment, mint, any white or off white pickguard is going to look pretty much the same under stage lights. Yes, the off white ones will sometimes look a bit odd under certain lighting situations, but most of the time, what exact version of white or off white you use will not matter one bit. The white or off white will guard steal the thunder from the woodgrain, as it's brighter - it downplays the strength of the body, which is that wood grain, by catching your eye - you don't want people starring at the plastic on your bas, you want them to see the wood.. The black has none of the issues of a white or off white, and will, under a lot more lighting situations, make the wood grain pop.

Black. No question.
