After several beers and a rehearsal, it is clear to me now. As many of you have said, white draws attention from the beauty of this wood. Black is going to be the winner. I love you guys and thank you all.

Someone asked about the wood. Black Korina top. This body is chambered White Korina. Bought from the "in stock" (no waiting) inventory at Warmoth. I have to say how impressed I am with the quality and fit. Warmoth deserves its reputation.

Yes! I want to build a Sonic Blue or light Daphne Blue bass with maple fingerboard. The Mint pickguard might be perfect.

Right on. Normally I wouldn't lean towards a black pick guard, but in this case it complements the wood tones nicely. And the fingerboard. And it looks mean.

The white and mint looks a bit like mum dressed you for kindy. Yes, that's giving me PTSD.

Also, regardless of which pickguard is used, the screws will be black. Also the bridge, strap buttons and string tree. I have not sprung for black tuners. Yet.

Yes to the black screws and hardware too. All my basses have black hardware. With the black guard and dark fretboard it will look very classy.
