Which Pickguard?

My first bass build. I'm conflicted on which pickguard to use. Please help!

In person, the lighter colored one looks more interesting than in these pictures, surely. It is about the same distance from pure white as Parchment but somehow brighter and more interesting. This is because it is Mint.

I like the black...shows off the wood best.

Or, you could make a wooden one like I did...

I like the black. And I'd vote for beer instead of orange juice when working on a bass.

Probably not rear routed, is it? Clearly, clear is the clear choice! That beautiful top deserves it. 2nd choice would be a rosewood or walnut colored , real wood guard.

With a finish like that, you don't need a pickguard.

Thank you. Yes, it is beautiful. No, unfortunately it is not rear-routed for pickguard delete.

Also, regardless of which pickguard is used, the screws will be black. Also the bridge, strap buttons and string tree. I have not sprung for black tuners. Yet.

I personally don't like the blue/green one.
Black and White are more like it.
Best choice for me would be black.
That's the more elegant one.

I think I like the black better but that is beautiful wood grain. It's a pity it has to be covered up.

Black, really makes a nice contrast to the grain in the body. Good looking bass!
