Which pickups to choose?

Hey, guys! So I have some money to blow.. and i've decided i'm going to upgrade my Fender MIM Jazz. I'm adding a BadAss II Bridge, but i'm not sure what pickups to add. I wanted to put in some SD Quarter Pounders, but i'm not really sure. I'm just looking for some pickups that give me more growl and more low end. Not looking to spend too much on them. What do you guys have in mind?

I'm doing something similar.

I know that I'm looking at passive only.

There are some intresting sound clips on this site that have the Fralins and Dimarzio (some others as well) however those are the ones that I"m interested in.

I'm leaning towards Fralins that are overwound at %02.

Just an FYI

Some of the MIM Jazzes have the same pickup in the front as they do in the back.

92 mm

The original or American series is 94 in the back and 91 up front.

Here is a little blurb from Aero on this matter.

# Mexican J Bass 4 Replacement The infamous pole piece pickup. The neck & bridge are identical!! Shorter and wider then the standard neck pickup, standard covers do not fit!!! The replacement pickup is designed to fit into the existing cover. New covers are not available through Aero.

My vote goes to the duncan antiquity 2s. They are alittle spendy but worth it. I had sjb3's in my jazz bass It was ok but the antiquity2s blow the sjb3s away. It really depends on the tone you want. I would say that the sjb3s sound like matt freemans jazz bass from rancid. And the antiquity 2s can give you the tone of klaus floride of the dead kennedys
