Hey Talkbass,
I'm looking at two amps for home practice they are:

- Fender Rumble 25 (1x8) 25 watts ---- The Rumble is less than a year old.

-Kustom KBA 80 (1X12) 80 watts ---- The Kustom is much older than the Fender.

Both are used....

Thanks in advance!

Normally I would recommend the Rumble because I think it’s a good series of amps overall and I don’t think that much of Kustom’s present-day lineup but, in this case I have to vote Kustom.

My first amp was a 1x8 practice amp and I can tell you with confidence that you will not enjoy using it. While I don’t think modern Kustom amps are all that great, 80W into a 12” speaker at least gives you a fighting chance of sounding like a bass. Playing bass through a single 8” speaker, regardless of Wattage, is only going to sound marginally better than trying to listen to bass through the built-in speaker on your phone.
