Which reverb??

I'm looking at replacing my old USA holy grail, simple due to it frying 2 power supplies. I use reverb along with some delay to add atmosphere etc to the song. Here's an example of what I mean

Anyway, im thinking of moving away from ehx on this and got it down to the following:
Trex tonebug reverb
Digitech hardware
TC hall of fame

I like the idea of multiple settings but that would only be used for recording so I'm just looking for a good quality reverb sound, ideally under £150 and available in the uk.

I don't use reverb on bass, but I had custody of an Iron Ether Nimbus for a couple of weeks, and if I WERE to use reverb on bass, that's the one I'd pick. Keeps your fundamental nice and solid, and the quality of the reverb effect is truly spectacular.

The TC Hall of Fame has a whole range of reverbs that can add fairly radical effects (church, modulation) to the more traditional (tile, spring, room).

Personally, my favorite setting is set to "Ambiance," which simply adds some nice studio-style air and life to the sound without affecting overall tone. A little goes a long way!

I've pulled the trigger on the Iron Ether Nimbus and I've ordered it from Prymaxe. Think the combination of being a good solid Reverb, the fact that they are pretty rare in the UK and that I haven't heard a bad thing said about them. Will post a review once i get it, can't wait!:hyper:

Thanks for the link to Prymaxe although I'm now temped by a few other pedals now!

+1 on the Nimbus. My favorite part so far is that a quick turn of a knob or two can take it from a standard reverb setting, giving slight ambience with full bass retention, to crazy spacey or cavern-like tones that make my guitarists jealous.

FWIW, I find that you need to keep the "Reverb" control very low as compared to the clean volume if you want a subdued tone that would match most settings on a Holy Grail. It gets crazy fast. I typically set it at 9 o'clock or less for general use.

I've been using the Tech 21 boost RVB pedal. I absoutely love it. The reverb with boost is really useful in live settings. I had the digitech hardwire reverb pedal too, which uses lexicon for its reverb programs. I like the Tech 21 better. The digitech was very clean and would be better for recording, but reverb + boost is what I need for live performance. Good luck!

good advice. I agree. Although I do like to keep mine all the way on for lush goodness :)
