Which single cab would you gig with?

I'd have a real hard time picking anything over my Bergantino AE410. Small size for a 410, light weight, great tone and plenty of volume when the power is put to it. I've done everything from 1 hand carry into small jams with it to outdoor shows without P.A. support and it's simply the best all round cab I've used to date.

These days I've been using my Xsonics 212CF more because it's even lighter, smaller, and just as loud. If I had to choose only one, I'd still take the AE410 just for it's refined tone.

Any good 2-way cab based on the 3015LF driver and a mid. I use an LDS but fEarful, fEarless, Audiokinesis, Barefaced are all fine. At least as loud as a 410 but clearer and goes lower and is much lighter and smaller (mine weighs a hair over 50 lbs).

Any one of the GB (greenboy) Cabs, fEARful 15xx or 12xx or Fearless Fxxx models....anyone of them would do it it for me..... Right now My fF 1515/66/1 will do everything for me..... i mean we are bass players, is there really such a thing as overkill?? :D:bassist::hiding:

Right now... A fEARful 1212/6/1. Does everything.

But I get by with what I've got, a 15/6/1 with own design crossover. Can be used for ANY style of music with the right preamp/EQ/pedals since it is an equal opportunity cab, frequency-wise. Light and small enough for tiny gigs, massively powerful for big gigs. If the gig needs more than that it more than likely will have a massive FOH to go through.

If I had to choose only one cab, I'd retire. Why? Because that cab would be an 810, and I do a few gigs where an 810 is physically impossible in every way, so I would lose work. Good thing nobody ever holds people to these hypothetical doomsday scenarios.

Fortunately some of us can have our cake and eat it, too.

I you could only have one cab in your arsenal, which one would it be? Keep in mind that you have to move this yourself (for all of you saying Ampeg 8x10), cost involved (not an unlimited budget) and versatility... Let's take the small coffee house gig off the plate, but for everything from a dive bar with 100 people, to an outdoor gig with minimal PA support, which cab would you choose? 4x10? 2x12? 1x15?

A 4x10 is a good workhorse that will get a lot done, and with PA support you can do big venues.

I use 2 2x10 cabs which is essentially a 4x10 but split in 2 for ease of hauling around.

Maybe this is a surprise...maybe not. My Aguilar GS 212. Not perfect, but really darn close (at least for me). Been with me since October 2002. Used it on big outdoor stages with minimal PA support, outdoors with no support, indoors in venues from tiny restaurants to the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills CA. It plays well with all of my amps with the exception of the Streamliner. Looking at the other cabs in my profile you may think I'm tone deaf. Well, so be it. If I had to pick a second cab (assuming this extravagance was allowed) it would be my Faital 15PR400 loaded Aguilar DB 115.

M. M. :)
