Which single cab would you gig with?

I've settled on my Demeter 2x12,1x6 cabinet as a loud, articulate, "handle whatever," "not too big" cabinet for playing shows in NYC...but if I had an unlimited budget, maybe I'd be happier with something that was as light and louder like an EA 410 cab...but I've never played through it so I'm not sure.

I would pick an 810, I drive a truck and have no problems moving them around.

I would say my Peavey 215d but it doesnt tilt back and roll and is pretty awkward to load and unload by myself, not to mention getting it up my stairs.

Easy-peasy lemon squeezy: Bergantino NV610. It has all the goodness of the Ampeg 8x10, and then some IMHO. And it does it in a smaller, lighter package. In 30+ years I have never heard a better cab, and I play low B five string, often tuned a half-step flat.

At 100 pounds it's still fairly heavy, and all 6x10 cabs are bulky, but this one tilts back and rolls easily: the only problem is stairs.

The NV610 is sealed and tweeterless just like the Ampeg, so it won't appeal to the ultra hi-fi crowd. But if the SVT vibe works for you, go for it.

I use a 1x15 or 2x10 for tiny gigs, but the NV610 gets the rest of my work. I rarely have to deal with stairs, but when I do I get someone to help.

+1

Out of all the cabs I own, if I could only keep one, it would easily be my Bergantino NV610.

For most of the gigs I do now, it's a Berg HS-410 .... when the gig requires a physically larger rig, I'll bring the NV610 .... I've been able to get the punch and tightness of the NV610 out of the HS-410, but the NV610 is easier to to move around and load in and out of the truck ... I'd like to try some of the newer offerings, but I am just happy with the tone I'm getting with the stuff I have.

If I had to have only 1 cab, my 1999 Eden Nemesis 410 still does it for me after all these years. 52 lbs, 500 w, punchy enuf, fat enuf, articulate enuf, power enuf & has handled every gig from 100 to 5000(PA supported) with ease so why change? I've never tried the 15/6 combo cabs or even a neo 212 so they may beat it out but for now....it does it all.
