which strings for which bass?

Just picked up a set of daddario exl160(.50-.105) and dr lo-riders(45-105)...the over brightness to the rotosounds have just been to bright for my liking, so im trying other options. I need yo restring my schecter damien 4 and my srx 390..I play progressive rock, funk, and blues...any suggestions on which strings to put on each bass? My band calls for me to carry the music(obviously as im the bass player)...

I currently have 3 year old dr Marcus millers on the schecter but didn't wanna pay $40 to replace em outright...heeeeeelp!

Also I have a gig tomorrow so I don't want an overwhelmed brightness...thanks!

I would suggest putting the brighter strings on the brighter bass. I don't know which of your basses is brighter, but I can tell you the DR's are somewhat brighter than the DaDDario's

How are the lo riders compared to the Marcus millers?

Similar sounding but quite a bit stiffer.

How much should the truss rod be adjusted? Im still a noob when it comes to bass set up...not sure im liking the tone so far, but a truss rod adjustment sounds like it'll work better....seeing how I liked the bass with the fat beams
