Which subwoofer do you recommend I pair with my Kali LP6 studio monitors?

I live in an apartment building and use my recording setup as my practice rig when I’m not using headphones.

I like the sound of my LP6 monitors for monitoring and just for playing. I’d just like to get a bigger low end.

Which subwoofer under $200 used would you recommend, or which specs should I look for?

Maybe you can find something used for that price, but I wouldn't expect much. I agree with @And I in that the matching Kali sub, which admittedly I've not researched, is likely the best bet and may offer a crossover/satelite feature with a frequency well-chosen for use with your monitors.

The question I have is regarding use of a subwoofer in a Brooklyn apartment (based on your user location). Will you actually be able to turn the subwoofer up to a volume where the low frequencies it produces are audible without getting noise complaints from your neighbors?

I’d only be able to turn it up halfway at best. That sub isn’t cheap. I’ll see if a used one pops up near me.
