Might not be as easy as that. Different gauge strings mean alot of adjustment, and the nut would need filing down to go bigger, or replacing to go smaller.

I don't have enough info to vote. What genres do you play? What do you like/hate about EADG?
If EADG is OK or better, I suggest using the 2nd bass as a "string lab".
