Which would you sell?

I'm getting real close to ordering a Stingray 4HH, and currently own two basses -

First is a G&L L2000 that I got probably around '98 or '99. Its a sunburst with maple board and 3 bolt neck.

Second is a Fender American Hot Rod Precision (has a Jazz pickup in the bridge position). It is trans orange with a rosewood board.

If you had to give one of these up, which one would it be.

I'm leaning toward selling the L2K.

me personally id sell the G&L L2000, but i really love fenders...which tone do u like more, which feels the best?? thats what u need to ask yourself.

I would sell the G&L as it is more similar to the Ray than the Fender. Never hurts to have a Fender lying around.

I think you should sell the G&L, the Stingray should probably be able to cover the G&L tones pretty easily.

Plusses & minuses

L2000
+ can get more clarity
+ higher quality finish
- heavier

Fender P
+ lighter weight (so I play it more often)
+ classic feel and tone
- finish is not as good quality

I just enjoy playing the Fender P more.

I've got one of those Ps. I'd keep the P too. I agree with the above posts that the Ray should cover your G&L sounds.

Y'know you would think so, but when I A/B'd them, I had the G&L dialed in as fat as I could absolutely get it. (my typical setup)

The HH Stingray was just so naturally fat. I tried to get it to sound like the L2000 - and the closest I could get was by turning the mids all the way up, and the lows all the way down, and switch in some bridge pickup.
