I was waiting for Bongos' review on this one, dam it ! I really wanted this to suck , I haven't bought anything in almost 3 months my longest run ever , now its over.
well damn it, Bongo. Ive only just recently re-discovered the simplistic and effective pleasure of the Demeter....
I have the bass 10 eq. and I also have an MXR 10 band . I really prefer the Whirlwind over the MXR, the problem is that I really can't articulate why. It just sounds better to me. Not really much of an endorsement but thats all I got. OC comp on the way, thanks Bongo !
Ooh, that's tough to answer. I'll have to spend a bit more time with it, maybe try to answer tomorrow.
I'm not surprised they did such a nice job. I had the Bass Ten for awhile and it was epic. It bests the EQ section of probably any bass head out there.
OK, I can answer now. It's more transparent, closer to the Empress. I don't actually have the Diamond or the Empress on hand anymore, but I did compare it to a half dozen others across a spread of tonal qualities, and the Whirlwind was definitely on the cleaner, more neutral end of the spectrum.
That Ed Friedland video review of the Bass 10 was pretty good. The with/without he does with the pedal makes it very apparent what it is doing to the tone.
