I'm pretty damn impressed by this one. It hits a sweet-spot medium between the tone/action of the Demeter and the controls/metering of the Empress.

I have the bass 10 eq. and I also have an MXR 10 band . I really prefer the Whirlwind over the MXR, the problem is that I really can't articulate why. It just sounds better to me. Not really much of an endorsement but thats all I got. OC comp on the way, thanks Bongo !

Does it "do" what the Diamond does for tone or is it transparent like the Empress?

OK, I can answer now. It's more transparent, closer to the Empress. I don't actually have the Diamond or the Empress on hand anymore, but I did compare it to a half dozen others across a spread of tonal qualities, and the Whirlwind was definitely on the cleaner, more neutral end of the spectrum.

That Ed Friedland video review of the Bass 10 was pretty good. The with/without he does with the pedal makes it very apparent what it is doing to the tone.
